“Nurturing Nature”

It is important that each of us do our part to conserve our environment. Through our project “Nurturing Nature” we are raising funds for UGA’s Mimsie Lanier Center for Native Plant Studies. The Mimsie Lanier Center for Native Plant Studies, located at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia at UGA, focuses on the conservation, propagation, and study of Georgia’s native flora. It works to protect rare species, produces native plants for restoration, and provides resources for local, sustainable gardening.

“Bags of Blessings”

“Bags of Blessings” gives us the opportunity to help the sisters of our communities that are surviving domestic abuse, or trafficking. Over the course of the year new/ gently used backpacks, bags, purses are being collected by each assembly along with personal hygiene products. Towards the end of the year, we will hold a “Bags of Blessing” packing party. The bags will be divided equally among the assemblies and brought back to our local communities, where they are to be donated to various shelters and centers dedicated to helping women rebuild their lives.
