Cherokee Rainbow Assembly Installs Slate of New Officers

CANTON, GEORGIA – Cherokee Assembly #80, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, located in Canton, Georgia, held their Installation of Officers on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Hickory Flat Masonic Lodge. Miss Angela Characky was installed as Worthy Advisor, a role that leads the assembly at local meetings as the girls discuss service, fundraising, and fun activities. She will preside until January 2020.

For her term, Angela has chosen the Cherokee County Humane Society as the assembly service project. The girls will plan, execute and work various fundraising events to raise funds for the animals at the center.

Angela is the daughter of Mark and Catherine Characky of Rydal, GA and most recently attended Adairsville Middle School. She will be a freshman in high school this August. Other officers include Sadi Faucett, Kaysie Faucett, Aleea Self, Gwennie Wight, Kassidy Coffield, Jayden Dudley, Cora Harris, Elise Hegeman, and Jasmine Fitzpatrick. The officers and members of Cherokee Assembly meet at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at Hickory Flat Lodge in Canton, GA.

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a non-profit service organization for girls ages 10 to 20 that teaches girls to be leaders by building confidence and public speaking skills in a safe and fun environment. It teaches girls to help others with service to create a better community. Georgia Rainbow encourages and inspires youth to come together to make a difference – like how its members throughout the state have joined forces to raise funds for the state service project, Make-A-Wish Foundation. Changing others’ lives can be as simple as a car wash, serving dinner, or selling tickets to a sporting event. There are fifteen assemblies throughout Georgia.
