Georgia Youth Organization Installs New State Leader

ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA – Georgia Grand Assembly, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls recently held their Installation of State Officers in Macon, Georgia, on June 23, 2019. Miss Elise Hegeman of Alpharetta, Georgia was installed as Grand Worthy Advisor, a role that leads the state by mentoring members, being an example of leadership and a commitment to service. This year Hegeman has chosen Canine Assistants located in Milton, Georgia as the statewide service project. Girls from all over the state will conduct various fundraisers in support of the project chosen. Funds raised will be presented at their annual convention held next June 2020.

Elise is the daughter of Lynette Hegeman Bunce of Alpharetta and Michael Hegeman of Dawsonville, GA. She is a 2018 graduate of Pinecrest Academy and has started her second year of college at Auburn University where she is majoring in Nursing.

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a non-profit service organization for girls ages 10 to 20 that teaches girls to be leaders by building confidence and public speaking skills in a safe and fun environment. It teaches girls to help others with service to create a better community. Georgia Rainbow encourages and inspires youth to come together to make a difference – like how its members throughout the state have joined forces to raise funds for the state service project, Canine Assistants. Changing others’ lives can be as simple as a car wash, serving dinner, or selling tickets to a sporting event. There are fifteen assemblies throughout Georgia.
